PRESS: Oil firms ask govt to raise priority in railway carriage

MOSCOW, Mar 29 (PRIME) -- Oil companies have suggested raising the priority of fuel transportation by railway for consumers on the east of Russia since there is a lack of a capacity in the eastbound direction, business daily Kommersant reported on Wednesday citing a letter of Gazprom Neft CEO Alexander Dyukov.

Dyukov complained that Gazprom Neft had problems with transportation from the Omsk refinery that led to a short supply of fuel on the east of the country.

First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov ordered the Transport and Energy ministries, and Russian Railways to consider the proposal until April 10.

The Economic Development Ministry earlier suggested revising the railway transport ranking for cargo, possibly prioritizing metals, fertilizers and liquefied natural gas over coal.
